Company Offers Boater Training
NJ Angler, March 2001
A group of marine industry professionals
felt there was a need to start an "on the water" training
company to help the average boater enjoy the great sport of boating,
while putting an emphasis on safety. Boatboy Marine Training was
born. It is a specialized on-the-water instruction course for novice
and experienced boaters.
According to Master Instructor Russ
Cohen, "We are not a classroom training company. We recommend
our customers take a classroom course, like the one offered by the
U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. We want to bridge the gap, taking the
knowledge learned in the classroom directly to the water, where
our customers do their boating. We also offer our service to marinas
and dealers for the boats they sell."
The course includes an easy to understand
waterproof laminated handbook that boaters can use time and again
while they are actually cruising. They have also created an "Emergency
Scenario Manual" with step-by-step instructions on what to
do if an emergency should arise.
